So I went 12 days past the month long deadline I had for the Long Freetress Deep Twist Crochet Braids. And here is why...

If I chose to keep it long I would have had to take it out after one month only because the ends were just a hot tangled and frayed mess. It was just not cute. I decided since I was going to be taking out the hair on day 30 why not go swimming in this?! I did and to much of my surprise even after getting out the pool and going to wash my hair (making sure to shampoo the hair straight down and not tangle it) it was not as tangle-ly as I thought it would be. I added some leave-in conditioner and finger combed it and got the scissors ready.

To preface yet again, I cannot do hair...well. I have watched a few videos on how to layer and shape hair (even for crochet braids but I dare not attempt it and get my friend instead to cut it). Since I was taking out these long crochet braids anyway I thought why not test out my amateur cutting skills and proceeded to cut at an angle parts and sections of the hair (cutting at a longer than shorter length). I did all this when the hair was wet and had leave-in conditioner in it. Afterwards I was pleased with the 90s Boho chic look and was like, well I guess I can rock these crochet braids for two weeks longer now that the frayed fluffy ends are gone!

I did have to do some part maintenance, for as you can see above my part looked like it was getting wider and wider. So I added a few more strands in the beginning parts of the cornrows at the part line. I also find I have to paddle comb this hair out more often  just because it tends to revert back to those tendrils that looks like it is right out of the package.

All in all, I have to say this is great crochet hair to swim in and it is so versatile where you can cut it up and wear a totally different style while extending the life of your crochet braids style.
