Weave Chronicles Day 31: Dreading and Freetress Gogo Curl Crochet Braids

It has been about a month since I installed my #33 Freetress Gogo Curl crochet braids. I started off feeling uncomfortable with the color because it was the lightest I have ever gone but slowly I grew into it and everybody was commenting on the color. I started saying, "This is my summer color!". All in all the crochet braids survived my most recent two week expedition in Japan, dipping in and out of sulfurous hot springs water and surviving a dual typhoon. I also went swimming in it this past weekend, which I have done before with this style. I still have to say this type of hair is only good for one month. Even my boyfriend who tends to skirt the periphery on hair related issues was asking how much longer I was going to wear that. Ha!

The biggest enemy at the one month mark is the dreading of the Freetress hair in the back of your head (because you sleep on it all the time and it has a tendency to get matted). I try to apply some product to the hair and cut out the matted parts or strands that seemed to have lost their lackluster flow - you don't want that dreaded chunk chilling out in the back of your head.

Natty Dread! (as my Jamaican father would say)
