Product Review: The Natural Me Whipped Shea Butter

Natural Me Headband
Natural Me Headband

I stumbled upon the Natural Me Online when I saw a video on the Nikkimae2003 Youtube channel trying on one of their unique headbands at a convention of some sort. I was very intrigued by their selection of headbands and proceeded to buy two of them as well

In addition to purchasing two of the headbands I also bought one of the Whipped Shea Butters (I got the Coconut, Jojoba Oil and Olive Oil mixture). I am a big 'butter' fan - the edible version and the hair moisturizer butters. Some of my favorites are Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream. Most of the products I find success with have some shea ingredient and are usually creamy. I assumed I was going to get the same type of consistency with this Natural Me Online Shea butter but it was not quite as smooth and soft as I was expecting.

Over the last two years it has been an active trial and error experiment, finding out what shampoos, conditioners, deep conditioners, twisting butters, and oils work best for my dry, fine strands, 4a/4b type hair. I have recently come to the conclusion that thick, solid type butters don't work quite as well. It took some time to soften up this product in my hand to spread on my hair and combing it through was another task (mostly because I have tangle-prone hair). The product was undoubtedly moisturizing but I had to really work it into my hair. It had a great scent and there was a decent amount provided for the price of $14.99. I plan on using it to seal the ends of my twists so they don't unravel. It can also be used as skin moisturizer but I haven't used it for that purpose. The simplicity of the ingredients has just given me more inspiration to one day whip up my own shea butter concoction to the consistency I like.
