I was really excited to purchase a few items from the Just Natural Organic Care line, precisely because they have products that cater to 'African-American' Hair. Organic AND a section for African American hair products...just seems too good to be true! And unfortunately it was. In the last year I have learned how online hair product websites market and sell their products. I found that sites that had a section on 'African-American' hair products or 'Curly' hair products or 'ethnic' hair products, etc, etc usually don't spend the majority of their time and money fine tuning their products so they can be satisfying to their breadth of customers with various types of Black hair. I also find that the products usually don't cater to 4 type 'African-American' hair either i.e. the substance is too light or too drying or not moisturizing enough.
Just Natural Organic Care, Herbal Gel for Curly Hair was one of the four products I purchased from Just Natural for the purpose of styling a wash n' go. I applied the product to freshly washed hair and the curl pattern looked great...for the first three hours and after that it became extremely dry - like STRAW feeling dry - like leave work from early to put some type of moisturizer on your hair dry! It was horrible. So the next time I washed my hair I decided to maybe try doing the Jessicurl Confident Collection way of doing a wash n' go - adding some sort of leave-in conditioner or moisturizer before adding the gel...NO LUCK...Still dry as the desert and since I didn't have time to return home and fix it that day, I had to take my flammable tumbleweed to a lounge that night...even water couldn't saturate my thirsty hair, it was really disappointing for a product line I really wanted to try.
What's worse, Just Natural does not provide sample sizes for most of their products including this one. So I have a $21, almost full 8oz bottle of the product sitting on my bathroom counter...any takers?
