Fat Twist Outs are the BEST Twist Outs!

So everyone loves a good twist out long as all the conditions are right: the right setting gel (I love using my homemade Flax Seed Gel but if I run out I use Camille Rose Naturals Curlaide), Hair is dry all the way before you take it out, and your ends are twisted all the way as well. When those conditions are met you get a fairly good twist out that can last you anywhere from three days to a week or so.

Nonetheless who has all that time to be doing little twists in and around your head every several days? My lazy butt definitely doesn't. So recently I tried doing a fat twist out and had a lot of success with it. I was hesitant at first because fat twists usually mean more product and the kinkier your hair is the harder it is to seal those ends into a nice cutesy twisty curl (especially if you have split ends). But since I cut my hair my ends have been very well behaved.

The twists are pretty thick and you end up with about 8-10 twists total depending on how much hair you have and how big your head is. Takes me about 20 minutes post washing/co-washing it to put them in. Drying can take some time and usually I go to sleep and wake up and they are dry and ready to do. Sometimes I do a curly twist out and add the rods and Jane Carter Solution Wrap and Rollproduct but I realize that might just be a waste of time especially if the twists are already too thick to be curled effectively. I want to try maybe just using Perm Rodsat the ends one day.

I really like the volume a fat twist out has in comparison to a regular twist out and the curls are not only voluminous but soft, bouncy and almost more wavier. Over time the curl pattern is still there but it gets more voluminous and becomes like a curly fro which I am still a fan of.
